Mindray Custom Calcs (M and DC-series)

Mindray is aware of issues impacting the M-Series and DC-Series ultrasound machines with creation of custom calcs. The issue is laterality not appearing as expected in the Location section of the calc. Mindray is going to address this issue in a future revision of the machine software. Until that update is released and deployed customers have the following options:

Option 1

Core Sound Imaging has an experienced 3rd party Mindray resource that can assist with custom calc creation. He also offers pre-built custom calc packages that are known to work with Studycast and can be imported onto some Mindray models. We can provide you with his contact information and provide him details about your equipment and needs.

Option 2

Clients can create custom calcs themselves using the method outlined below.

  • Go to Setup > Measurement Preset
  • Select Exam Type at the top of the screen to select correct package
  • Under Available Items remove any default calculations from the package
  • Select Vascular in the Available Items dropdown
  • Create Custom Calculation Items selecting 2D for length, M or Doppler for other items.
Notes
When creating Custom Calculations do not use any of the options for Location (Left, Right, Prox, Mid, Distal) as these values do not send. All location related information must be included as part of the calc label. For example, this means for Great Saphenous Vein the following 8 calcs need to be created in the package.

(2) Rt GSV Prox
(3) Rt GSV Mid
(4) Rt GSV Dist
(5) Lt GSV
(6) Lt GSV Prox
(7) Lt GSV Mid
(8) Lt GSV Dist

Custom Calc Creation Tips

  • Copy all Custom Calculation Items from the Left window to the Right.
  • Test with one calc first, create a sample study with it, upload to Studycast and notify Support.
  • Studycast Support will confirm the SR label for the calc contains: laterality + segment + vessel + value
  • Continue building building out your calc package using these steps.
